Nature

Nature

Nature consists of biotic and abiotic components. Biotic components consist of living things such as animals, plants, humans, and others. While abiotic components consist of inanimate objects. All of those components are interconnected so that there is a reciprocal relationship between both of them. This reciprocal relationship is not always profitable for both. It is only profitable for one party and harmful for the other. All of this reciprocal relationship is called symbiosis.

One of symbiosis examples in life is between Rafflesia Arnoldi with its host plant, this  is called parasitism symbiosis, which is only profitable for one of the parties and harmful for the other. This symbiosis is a natural thing. Another example  is between human and nature. Nature provides human needs such as residence and food, while humans maintain and provide CO2 for nature. This is called mutualism symbiosis which is profitable for both parties. However, humans and nature are not always mutually beneficial. If humans act arbitrarily, nature will wrath. Finally, humans and nature will harm each other.

Humans often do arbitrarily without taking care of the nature. Cutting down trees for settlements and polluting water, air, and land. However I have been wondering why we as humans do not think about the negative impacts of all they did. I believe, we will receive kindness as a result of all our good deeds. On the other hand, bad actions will result in punishment. The punishment comes in the form of disasters such as  flood, landslides, and forest fires. Nature begins to show his anger if you treat it unfairly.

1. Humans throw garbage into the river
causing flood

2. Illegal logging without reforestation
causing landslide

There is a time when nature provides all the needs of humans, but there are times also when nature is wrath because of what humans did. When it is angry, it will slowly cause destruction to the earth, damages as a result of natural disasters, and extinction of the creatures that live on earth including humans. Not all humans are evil to the nature. Of course there are people who care to the environment and we have to be that kind of people. As people who care about the environment, there are so many things we can do. Reforestation after cuting down trees and selective cutting down will prevent flood and landslide. We can also do 3Rs (Recycle, Reuse, Reduce) to lower the high amount of litter on earth, use bicycle or walk to reduce air pollution and many  others.

As creatures who live on earth, we must always keep and maintain the nature so later it can still be used by our children and grandchildren.
